About Us and Our Thinking

Why we work for change...
History

Our women’s organization began during the presidential campaigns and in the aftermath of the 2016 national election. The campaigns and election spotlighted many gender issues central to women’s rights. Many women with diverse political affiliations, feel compelled to become political activists, many for the first time, to support equitable change. Women understand that activism empowers gender on the national stage.

Vision

Womenstepup.org offers a public, online platform that endorses all women by supporting efforts that create tangible, transformative life changes. Our community focuses on four important issues as they effect and impact women:

-
Gender equality.
-
Economic equality.
-
Equitable political representation.
-
Women’s healthcare rights.
Purpose

Our purpose is to provide an open forum of newsworthy information and dialogue channels to motivate and inspire women to take part in some form political activity.

Goals

Our primary goal is to enlist politically active women as volunteers in regional and national elections. We want to establish working relationships through our website and by using social media channels. Also, our organization strives to educate women on strategic, gender issues that will raise their awareness and create leadership skills.
Call to Action

We hope to create a community of volunteers that will campaign and participate in regional and national elections:

-
Citizen journalists – influencers – writing opinion pieces.
-
Hitting the streets by knocking on doors and registering people to vote.
-
Coordinating and attending political events.
-
Creating website and social media content in writing or as videos.
-
Recruiting friends in their sphere of influence to expand our network and cause community.
-
Assisting with other worthy organizations as partners in equal rights.
-
Helping to manage and organize the website and social media content.

Why We Are a Movement

There is a pressing necessity to ensure that women are seen and treated as equal.
For women, gender and diversity should be seen as strengths. These attributes have the ability to build a formidable local and national coalition. Women need to embrace present political and economic opportunities to promote necessary change with progressive attitudes and unique, gender-based, American thinking.
This thought process should be focused on important issues as they impact women, and indeed, all people: Women’s Healthcare, Economic Equality, Political Representation, and Family Matters.

With the present political climate, it is imperative that women voice their views and beliefs. This requires a positive response with purposeful and dynamic action.
“Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful, committed citizens can
change the world. Indeed, it’s the only thing that ever has.”
